Gravatar

Published 05 May 2014

A Gravatar is a Globally Recognised Avatar, it is an image that follows you from site to site appearing beside your name when you do things like comment or post on a blog. Avatars help identify your posts on blogs and web forums. If you leave a comment on my site and you have a gravatar you will notice the image beside the comment you have just left.

An “avatar” is an image that represents you online, it’s a little picture that appears next to your name when you interact with websites.

You upload it and create your profile just once, and then when you participate in any Gravatar-enabled site, your Gravatar image will automatically follow you there.

Gravatar is a free service for site owners, developers, and users. It is automatically included in every WordPress.com account and is run and supported by Automattic.

So if you have not signed up and uploaded your gravatar do so now by Clicking Here.

Leave a comment below using the email address you signed up to gravatar with and you will see your gravatar beside the comment you left.

As you can see this is my Gravatar. It is a picture of me standing a bit too close to the edge of The Grand Canyon.
